この週末、以前ホームステイに参加してくれたゲストが、なんと3回目の訪問で久米島に戻ってきてくれました。初めて来たのは高校生のときで、現在は大学3年生になっています。今回は、彼女の友人でありビジネスパートナーの方も一緒に来てくれました。

彼女は今では英語がとても堪能で、これまでに多くの国を旅し、自分自身のビジネスも立ち上げています。日本にいながら英語を実践的に学びたい学生と、ホームステイ先のご家庭をつなぐ活動をしており、その原点は「久米島でのシサレリ家とのホームステイ体験だった」と話してくれました。現在は、こちらのホームページでも活動内容を紹介しています。https://v0-eta-lyart.vercel.app

今回の訪問は観光というよりもビジネス目的で、私たちのホームステイプログラムを紹介するための撮影や写真撮影を行いました。久米島まで来るのが難しいご家庭でも、日本国内には英語を“体験”できるホームステイの機会がきっとあります。お子さまに自然な形で英語に触れてほしいとお考えの方は、ぜひ一度ホームステイという選択肢を検討してみてください。

This weekend, one of our former homestay guests returned to Kumejima for her third visit. She first stayed with us when she was in high school, and now she is a junior in college. This time, she also brought along her friend and business partner.

She is now fluent in English, has traveled to many countries, and has started her own business. Her work focuses on connecting students whose main goal is to practice English while in Japan with homestay families. She shared with us that her homestay experience with the Ciccarelli family here in Kumejima was the biggest inspiration behind this journey. This visit was more business-focused, and she spent time filming and taking photos to help introduce and promote our homestay program. Even if traveling all the way to Kumejima is not possible, there may be a homestay opportunity closer to where you live in Japan. For families hoping their children can experience English in a natural and meaningful way, homestay can be a wonderful first step.
